The past week has been a big week in the history of Lamborghini; they revealed a new limited-edition car at the 2019 Frankfurt motor show. It's a special car for the Italian sports car manufacturer because they will be building a car with a Hybrid powertrain. This car will be called the Lamborghini Sián; the name Sián stands for "flash" of "lightening" in Lamborghini's home region of bologna in Italy.
Lamborghini will only build 63 Sián's; the 63 examples represent 1963 the year the company was founded. However, Lamborghini has already sold the 63 units. The Sián's new hybrid powertrain will produce a combined 819 hp (602 kW) between the e-motor and V12 engine. All of this power will make it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and do a top speed of 350 km/h. Also, the Sián gets it’s electric power from a 48 volt e-motor that produces 34 hp. The electric motor is incorporated into the gearbox which is then distributed to all 4 wheels.
The new Sián takes some of its design cues like its headlights from the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio concept. However, the big thing to take away from this limited-edition Sián is the new design language will be seen in future Lamborghini's.
Each Sián will cost around or near 4.3 million Australian dollars. However, the chances of seeing a Sián on Australian roads are slim.
