Last week Chevy revealed they had restyled the Camaro for 2019 when us Aussies haven't even got the current model. But that doesn't matter because the team at HSV would already be working towards getting the 2019 Camaro down here in Australia.

Personally, I hope HSV take the stock Camaro SS and makes it look as good as any previously built HSV Commodore. Time will tell if HSV puts its personal touch on the Camaro.

So, what can we expect from the 2019 Camaro?

A new 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission featuring launch control and a line lock mode for warming up those rear tyres at the drag strip.

The Infotainment system now comes with navigation as standard. The 2019 Camaro now comes with rear parking camera as well as forward collision alert.

I'm not going to complain about the next fact, the Camaro's 6.2L LT1 V8 still has the same power output of 455 hp (339 kW) and 455 lb-ft of torque (617 Nm).

Chevy has also added a new version of the 2019 Camaro called the 1LE. The 1LE will come with a turbo four-cylinder that would compete with the Ford Mustang Eco Boost model. It’s hard to say at this stage if HSV will import the 1LE.

In other Camaro news, Car Advice recently revealed that HSV has trademark the ZL1 name. So, if this is the case, it's a pretty good chance that we could also see a right-hand drive ZL1 Camaro available for sale in the land down under.
